Between a forest of action hack and slash games by swords and spears, FALLENMAGE rises up like a ghostly experience for those who want to transform into a fallen mage. This game throws you into dark dungeons, where power does not come from muscles but from ancient runes. I am truly impressed with the way of leading the context; the feeling of controlling a mage carrying within himself full of hatred, lonely fighting among a pack of monsters is truly very stimulating.
The most money-making point is the combat system based entirely on magic with a mana management mechanism extremely strict. Instead of pressing buttons wildly, players must know how to calculate: when should release wide area skills to clear monsters, when need to restrain to save “energy” to finish off the final boss. The skill system and attribute tree allow you to build the character in the direction of a “mobile fortress” or long-range assassin as you like. Choosing wrong one upgrade is eating onion immediately—challenging but extremely addictive.
